Laundry Tips

Welcome back to our blog! In this week’s Willington Lakes Phase 1 Blog post, we’ve got a few tips for you to aid you in making your laundry day a little easier. Enjoy reading about them below!

Set an Alarm

If you’re a busy person, you can easily get caught up in doing something else. We suggest setting an alarm so you have a reminder to shake you from your task and bring your attention to your laundry. The last thing you want is to forget your laundry in the machine and have it end up having a musty smell that won’t come out even after drying.

Pre-sort Your Clothes

Do yourself a favor and sort your clothes before doing the laundry. As easy as it is to throw all your clothes into the wash at once, it’s better for you to separate them by darks and whites. Having them sorted will keep the colors more vibrant, won’t dull your darks, and keeps your white clothing sparkly white.

Don’t Stuff the Machine

It can get tempting to throw everything in the wash at one time, especially if you’re the type of person who doesn’t really like doing the laundry. It’s actually more beneficial to avoid stuffing the machine! Putting too many clothes in the washer can actually lead to trapping dirt in your clothes, resulting in a less thorough wash. Overstuffing can also strain the machine and reduce its lifespan, causing you to spend money you don’t need to, or causing unnecessary maintenance fees.

Laundry day can be a drag, but with these tips, hopefully, it’ll get easier! If you have any laundry day tips for our Orangeburg, SC apartment community, let us know by leaving a comment below! We hope you have a great month (and year) doing laundry wherever you might be
