Tabletop Roleplaying Games

If you’ve ever heard of Dungeons & Dragons, you’ve been exposed to tabletop roleplaying games. Tabletop roleplaying games are a great way to spend a night with friends and family. Unlike board games, these tabletop roleplaying games are conducted primarily in the theatre of the mind, with the occasional use of terrain and miniatures. It’s entirely possible to play an entire session of a game without miniatures at all! In this week’s Willington Lakes Phase 1 Blog, we’ve got a few roleplaying games that you could try your hand at to see if you like them! Remember that tabletop roleplaying games are the most fun when everyone participates in collective storytelling!

Dungeons & Dragons

Probably one of the most popular tabletop roleplaying games out there, Dungeons & Dragons was first published in 1974 and has seen its fair share of popularity in earlier years and has been experiencing a resurgence recently. Wizards of the Coast, D&D’s parent company provides resources books and pregenerated adventures to help facilitate gameplay for beginners and veterans alike, where you can dive into a world and become a hero in your own right!

Call of Cthulhu

If you’ve been a fan of H.P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos, you’re not going to want to miss out on this tabletop roleplaying game! Jump into a darker world much like our own and see if you can survive. Call of Cthulhu is known as one of the more difficult games where death of player characters are more frequent when compared to games like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder. If you’re into occult themes and mystery, try out Call of Cthulhu!

Star Wars Roleplaying Game

If you’ve ever watched the Star Wars movies, you’ve probably wondered what it would be like to be a character in that universe. With Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, you can create a character in the Star Wars universe and adventure alongside other players! Using custom polyhedral dice, you can determine your successes and failures. Customize your character the way you want and then have a blast!
